For deck cadet and engine officers, Indian maritime University is conducting all India CET exam in every one year. Before going yo deck cadet and engine officer get sponsored from good company so that u don't have to face problem in your carrier company which sponsors are wallem,v ship, synergy,MSC, Anglo eastern and many others.
Let's start with the courses name and minimum qualification for that courses.

Deck cadet
1.one year pre-sea diploma in nautical science (DNS)leading to B.sc Nautical science affiliated to indian maritime University.
[ after completing one year diploma+18 months onboard tranning +4 months preparatory course +requistire modular course,can aappear for written and oral exam of second mate certificate of competency]
Minimum qualifications(a) pass in (10+2)or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%.
Or
(B) b.sc in physics, mathematics, chemistry or electronic with physics as individual subject in one of the year, with an average of not less than 55% of marks in the final year.
2. 3-year BSc degree in nautical science 

Pass in (10+2) or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as a separate subject with PCM average of not less than 60% and with 50%english languages at 10th or 12th std exam.
RATINGS
1. 6-MONTHS PRE-SEA COURSE FOR GENERAL PURPOSE RATING

Minimum academy qualification-
Pass with aggregate 40℅ marks in 10th standard from a recognized board with science,mathematics as subject and with minimum 40% marks in English language either in 10th, 12th or diploma /degree.

2.  6-MONTH PRE-SEA COURSE FOR GENERAL PURPOSE  FOR FITTERS/PETTY OFFICERS

Pass in 2year I.T.I course from Govt. approved Institute with minimum 50% aggregate marks in final year and minimum 40% marks in English at 10th or 12th or diploma/degree exam.

SALOON RATINGS 
1. B.SC (MARITIME HOSPITALITY STUDIES)
 Minimum qualification-12th standard passed from a recognized board, with aggregate 50% mark and minimum 50% marks in English subject at 12th or 10th standard exam.
2. 6-months certificate course in maritime catering
Minimum qualification-pass with aggregate 40% marks in 12th standard from any stream, from a recognized board with English as a subject.the candidate to 40% marks in English either at 10th or 12th standard.
3.orientation course for catering personnel
Candidate holding degree/diploma in hotel management from recognized and reputed board or the Universities.
The candidate should have scored a minimum 40% marks in the English language at the 10th/12th  standard examination.
ENGINE OFFICERS

1. 4-YEAR DEGREE COURSE IN MARINE ENGINEERING.

(a) pass in 10+2 or examination with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%or
(b) candidate can join 2nd year of 4-year marine engineering degree course provided he has passed 1st year training from the alternate training scheme, provided by D.G shipping.

DEGREE /DIPLMA HOLDER -ENGINE OFFICER

A.      1-YEAR MARINE ENGINEERING COURSE FOR GRADUATES (GME)
(a) graduation in BE (Mechanical engineering) /naval architecture with minimum marks of 50% in a final year and within minimum 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th or in degree exam.

ELECTRO-TECHNICAL OFFICER
(A) PRE -SEA TRAINING FOR ELECTRO-TECHNOLOGY OFFICERS ON MERCHANT SHIP

(A) pass 10+2 with physics, chemistry , mathematics, and English as a separate subject with minimum 50% marks in the English language at 10th of the 12th standard exam
(B) passes three-year diploma with 60% marks or four years degree including lateral entry, with 50% marks in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics, and telecommunications.
